Mme. Odile Lagacheri

Vice-President du Conseil d'Administration

Université Stendhal-Grenoble3

Dear Vice President Lagacherie,

May I take this opportunity to express my concern about the attempt to close down CEIMSA at Stendhal University. This research center has been a place of excellence, a source of creative work, and ground-breaking conferences. As a participant of the 2002 international conference, which broght together first-rate academics and students from all over Europe and the United States, I was impressed by the  number of students who displayed tremendous  interest in the CEIMSA program. They undoubtedly are among the best I have ever encountered in my 38-year long academic career. Prof. Francis Feeley and hius colleagues are doing a fantastic job raising the awareness of the students of the need to put joint effort in making the world a safer place.

As a holder of a Ph.D. from Moscow University, the author of 10 books and over 150 articles, and as one who has taught or spoken at many universities throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, I call on you to take into account for the needs and interests of the academic  community and reconsider your decision.

Prof. Yuri Stulov, Ph.D.

Director of the American Studies Center,
