Subject: “Upgrade to paid”: The Monetization
of Life and Death
Dear Colleagues and Friends of CEIMSA,
The alternative Anglophone social media continues to
percolate with vital information on the war at home and abroad which has been
triggered deliberately by vested interests, who
control the policies of national governments and world associations in
possession of vast sums of money and strategic information.
The gradual introduction of “user fees” even by the
most essential of these critical alternative sources of information is a blight and a further illustration of how the capitalist
system enacts the myth of Hydra when
it comes to survival: rather than die, it transforms itself and multiplies its
lethal forces.
The 23+ items below offer readers a glimpse
into the dialogues which are still available to “non-paying” citizens, who have
skin in the game but no access to the elitist domains guarded by “user-fee” entrances.
The cruelty of the ruling classes who can game this
system to make private profits is a constant theme; but the capitalist system
is all-inclusive, and we ignore the many excrescences of burgeoning subsystems proliferating
at our own peril.
Better to sell socks than to sell vital information!
Sincerely,
Francis McCollum Feeley

“Before They Scrub This History:
Group Documents Stories of COVID Protocol Victims”
by Michael Nevradakis, Ph.D.
In an
exclusive interview with The Defender, Carolyn “CC” Blakeman,
media director and task force coordinator for the FormerFedsGroup
Freedom Foundation, described the group’s mission, which includes supporting
people whose family members were injured or died from hospital COVID-19
protocols and pursuing legal action on their behalf.
For
Carolyn “CC” Blakeman, media director and task force
coordinator for the FormerFedsGroup Freedom Foundation (FFFF), life experiences are what led her to become an advocate for
COVID-19 hospital protocol and vaccine injury victims.
“I got
started because I had previously lost a daughter in 1995. She was killed,” Blakeman said. “When the COVID-19 pandemic
was announced, the thought of losing somebody else I loved terrified me.”
In an
exclusive interview with The Defender, Blakeman
said, “They had us all terrified on the news,” referring to the death count
tickers, the refrigerated trucks and the claims of how many would die from the
virus. “I was already a political blogger, so I took a deep dive into
researching this virus and what other countries were using to treat their COVID
patients.”
According
to Blakeman, her research led her to discover that other
countries were using “working early treatments, but we were being denied them.”
These treatments included ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine.
But when Blakeman attempted to spread the word about these
treatments online, she found her blogs were getting taken down.

CIA Whistleblower’s Bombshell
Claim About COVID Conspiracy
by The Defender Staff
Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)
whistleblower made bombshell claims against the U.S. intelligence agency on
Tuesday relating to the origins of COVID-19.
The Select
Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic and
Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence announced that members heard
testimony from a CIA whistleblower who alleged that the CIA “offered six
analysts significant monetary incentives to change their position on COVID-19’s
origin.”
“The
whistleblower, who presents as a highly credible senior-level CIA officer,
alleges that of the seven members assigned to the CIA team tasked with
analyzing COVID-19 origins, six officers concluded that the virus likely
originated from a lab in Wuhan, China,”
the House’s Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus
Pandemic said in a press release. “The CIA, then, however, allegedly offered
financial incentives to six of the experts involved in the investigation to
change their conclusion in favor of a zoonotic
origin.”
The
announcement on Tuesday comes several months after the Wall Street Journal
obtained classified intelligence reports in
February, which found that the U.S. Department of Energy determined that
COVID-19 likely originated from a lab in Wuhan, China.
“The
whistleblower further contends that to come to the eventual public
determination of uncertainty, the other six members were given a significant
monetary incentive to change their position,” House’s Select Subcommittee on
the Coronavirus Pandemic Chairman Brad Wenstrup and House Permanent Select Committee on
Intelligence Chairman Mike Turner said in a joint statement.

“Video:
Pfizer’s “Secret” Report on the Covid Vaccine: Beyond
Manslaughter. The
Evidence is Overwhelming.
The Vaccine Should Be Immediately
Withdrawn Worldwide”
by Prof Michel Chossudovsky
Why is the “Confidential Pfizer report” made public under
Freedom of Information (FOI) in October 2021 not being quoted or referred to in
parliamentary enquiries as a means to refuting the official narrative (which
contends that the Covid-19 vaccine is “safe and effective”).
We have documented numerous public enquiries. The most
recent are the hearings in the Australian Senate. (August 2023)
The evidence amply confirms that the Pfizer vaccine
is a dangerous substance, resulting in deaths and adverse events.
This is confirmed by the Pfizer Confidential Report
released under FOI in October 2021. It come’s from
the Horse’s Mouth. . . . .
***
The Confidential report is a bombshell.
The vaccine was launched in mid-December 2020. By the end of February
2021, “Pfizer had already received more than 1,200 reports of deaths allegedly
caused by the vaccine and tens of thousands of reported adverse events,
including 23 cases of spontaneous abortions out of 270 pregnancies and more
than 2,000 reports of cardiac disorders.”
This Confidential Pfizer Report provides data
on deaths and adverse events recorded by Pfizer from the outset of the vaccine
project in December 2020 to the end of February 2021, namely a very short period (at most two and a half months).
The data
from mid-December 2020 to the end of February 2021 unequivocally confirms
“Manslaughter”. Based on the evidence, Pfizer had the responsibility to
immediately cancel and withdraw the “vaccine”.
Pfizer’s Worldwide marketing of the Covid-19 Vaccine beyond February
28th, 2021, is no longer an “Act of Manslaughter”.
Murder as
opposed to Manslaughter implies “Criminal Intent”.
Pfizer’s Covid 19 Vaccine constitutes a Criminal Act. From a
legal standpoint it is an “Act of Murder” applied Worldwide to a target
population of 8 billion people. Sofar more than 60 percent of the World’s population have
been Covid-19 vaccinated.

(48:25)
The US
government has hounded Julian Assange since WikiLeaks first revealed the extent of US war crimes in
2010. In the process of persecuting Assange, the
federal government has used every tool at its disposal and even pushed beyond
the boundaries that supposedly restrict state power in defense of civil
liberties. One of the most insidious tactics is the use of the Espionage Act,
which had not been used for against whistleblowers and journalists for almost a
century before Assange's case. In the first of a
two-part conversation, lawyer and human rights defender Stella Assange, spouse of Julian Assange,
joins Chris Hedges for a look at the vast and vicious campaign by the US to
silence Julian Assange, and what it all portends for
our democracy.

Blinken, Assange,
And The 20th Anniversary Of The Palestine Hotel
Bombing
by Chip Gibbons
When Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Australia in August, he was, as expected,
asked about WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. Blinken confirmed that
he discussed the Assange case with his Australian
counterpart Foreign Minister Penny Wong. He stated that while he understood
Australians’ views on the matter, Australians needed to recognize the United
States’ position. “Mr. Assange was charged with very
serious criminal conduct.”
Blinken’s remarks were
outrageous for a number of reasons. The most glaring and obvious reason is that
Assange is charged with exposing human rights abuses
by the U.S. one might label “very serious criminal conduct.” The fact that the
U.S. now seeks to extraterritoriality apply its Espionage Act to a journalist
for exposing these crimes could reasonably be deemed “very serious criminal
conduct.”
But an extra layer of perversity is attached to Blinken’s
hypocritical remarks when one considers that the State Department cables
published by WikiLeaks document how the U.S. works to
evade accountability for its serious crimes. The one that was most on my mind involved the U.S. efforts to squash criminal
indictments of three U.S. servicemembers over their
alleged involvement in the death of Spanish photographer Jose Couso.
Since the early 1990s, the U.S. had bombed Iraq, including the capital city of
Baghdad. In 2003, invading U.S. forces entered Baghdad during “Shock and Awe,”
the campaign of overwhelming military violence designed to terrorize the Iraqi
people in the hopes that their government would submit. By April 3, ground
forces had mounted an offensive to seize control of Baghdad.
It was on
April 8, near the end of the “Battle of Baghdad,” when Captain Philip
Wolford ordered a US
tank commanded by Sergeant Thomas Gibson to launch a mortar. The mortar did
what mortars are built to do—it took two human lives. Yet the U.S. soldiers did
not fire on an Iraqi military target or even a government building. They fired on
the Palestine Hotel.
Not only
was the hotel not a “legitimate” military target, but it was also known to house
members of the international media who were there to report on the war. As a
result, Reuters cameraman Taras
Protsyuk and Telecinco
cameraman Jose Couso were killed.

Lipid Nanoparticles

components of the resulting combination product. Lower left provides
cartoon diagrammatic images of the individual chemical components. A wide range
of ionizable (positively charged) lipids have been
developed and tested for use in these formulations, examples of these chemical

by David Gortler,
Robert Malone
Did You Take Them Without Knowing What Was in Them?
In
response to the worldwide-spread of COVID-19, a disease caused by Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, several pseudo-mRNA “gene
therapy”-based products were rapidly developed and deployed as prophylactic
vaccines. In contrast to recombinant viral “gene therapy”-based vaccines
such as those developed by Janssen (J&J) and Astra-Zeneca, these RNA
products employ non-viral self-assembling Lipid NanoParticle
(LNP) technology to deliver genetic information coding for a viral protein
(SARS-CoV-2 Spike) into the cells of the patient. Each of these
complicated combination products, which include both a biological component
(the RNA) and a complex new ingredient (the LNP), were brought to market by
private pharmaceutical companies in a rapidly assembled government-corporate
collaboration, operating at “warp speed.”
New vaccine
development has historically involved a decade-long
discovery, research, testing, review and approval
process. In contrast, the detailed and time-consuming methodology
required to ensure vaccine product safety and effectiveness were scuttled and
the overall process was condensed to less
than one year. Next, globally harmonized and previously sacrosanct
regulatory and scientific standards, carefully developed over decades were
discarded when it came to the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for the completely
novel and barely tested mRNA-based injections.
Although
intended to prevent viral infection, replication, spread and COVID disease or
death, and to enable “herd immunity”, these products were developed at “Warp
Speed” and labeled “vaccines” but differed
remarkably from all other currently available vaccine products.
That haste and the associated regulatory compromises enabled by lax EUA
requirements yielded products with high rates of avoidable existing and
emerging treatment-associated serious adverse events including
hospitalizations, permanent disabilities and deaths, as reported in both VAERS,
and the CDC’s now surreptitiously shuttered V-safe reporting system. The abbreviated testing associated with this novel mRNA/LNP
combination product should have led to a substantially greater contemplative
pause, well-prior to authorizations and federal implementation and vaccine
mandates from federal officials within the executive branch of
government.
Damn the
Torpedoes
It was
obvious to those who were familiar with the scientific method and
investigational medicine what could – and ultimately did occur. Drug
development processes have a very high failure rate, and the number one reason
for clinical failure of investigational medicines is drug safety. Despite that, the government discarded
established norms for testing and development with these products. This
policy has resulted in avoidable damage to both public trust in government and
regulatory authority integrity. Policies and practices based on decades of “lessons learned” from
prior product development failures were jettisoned with little discussion or
justification.

“Western press fetishizes
Ukrainian amputees as limb loss epidemic grows”
https://thegrayzone.com/2023/08/15/western-press-ukrainian-amputees/
by Kit Klarenberg
With Ukrainian forces reportedly
suffering a level of amputations reminiscent of WWI, a New York Times proxy war
propagandist is spinning amputees as sex symbols and painting their gruesome
injuries as “magical.”
After 18
months of devastating proxy warfare, the scale of the depletion of the
Ukrainian military is so extensive that even mainstream sources have been
forced to concede the cruel reality. On August 1, The Wall Street Journal reported that “between
20,000 and 50,000 Ukrainians” have “lost one or more limbs since the start of
the war.” What’s more, the outlet notes, “the actual figure could be higher”
because “it takes time to register patients after they undergo the procedure.”
By
comparison, around 67,000 Germans and 41,000 Britons underwent amputations
during the entire four-year span of the First World War. The publication quotes
the head of a group of former military surgeons who train Ukrainian military
medics who maintained that “Western military surgeons haven’t seen injuries on
this scale since World War II.”
While the
implications of the Journal’s report have largely been studiously ignored by
Western media, at least one mainstream journalist has displayed a keen interest
in Kiev’s amputees. The New York Times’ columnist and ardent liberal
interventionist Nicholas Kristof practically fetishized the mass disfigurement of Ukrainian combat
veterans in the name of Washington’s war du jour.
In a July
8 op-ed titled
“They’re Ready to Fight Again, on Artificial Legs,” Kristof insisted that rather than resenting being used as cannon
fodder, Ukraine’s newly-disabled veterans “carry their stumps with pride.”

“New Files Reveal MKULTRA's
Terrifying Reach: Ethnic Bioweapons, Mind Control,
and Disturbing Experiments”
by Kit Klarenberg
In a groundbreaking investigation, renowned
anthropologist Orisanmi
Burton has blown the lid off a dark chapter in CIA history.
Classified Agency files, recently obtained through Freedom of Information laws,
expose shocking ties between the infamous MKULTRA program and nightmarish
experiments on prisoners of color within the United States.
Burton’s
findings expose MKULTRA’s sinister mission to develop psychological warfare and
behavioral manipulation tactics specifically aimed at people of color under the
guise of “counterinsurgency.” Unbelievably, these barbaric trials were conducted
during a turbulent era when numerous U.S. government agencies relentlessly
sought to crush the civil rights movement, and prisons brimmed with political
radicalism.
This
disturbing revelation puts the CIA’s actions into sharp focus, revealing a
ruthless bid to quell
Black resistance both on the streets and behind
bars. But it doesn’t stop there. Burton’s disclosures raise urgent and profound
questions about the far-reaching impact of these operations—both in the past
and, unsettlingly, even today.
Among the
most haunting questions is whether the Agency actively pursued a race-specific
mind control weapon—an idea that strikes at the very core of ethical and moral
boundaries.
As the
nation grapples with this revelation, one thing is certain: Burton’s exposé
demands answers and accountability for the harrowing atrocities committed in
the name of national security. The truth must be unveiled, and justice served
for those who suffered under the relentless grip of MKULTRA’s clandestine
horrors.

How a Notorious Georgia Army
School Became America's Training Ground for Global Torture
by Alan Macleod
Fort Benning, the infamous Georgia U.S. military base, is once
again in the news, changing its name to Fort Moore, thereby ditching its
Confederate name. Yet none of the media covering the rebranding – not The New York Times, the Associated
Press, CNN, ABC, CBS News, USA Today nor The Hill – mentioned the most controversial aspect of the institution.
Across
Latin America, the very name of Fort Benning is enough
to strike terror into the hearts of millions, bringing back visions of
massacres and genocides. This is because the fort is home to the School of the
Americas (now known as Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation or
WHINSEC), a shadowy academy where around 84,000 Latin American soldiers and
police officers have been taught on the U.S. dime on how to kill, torture and
how to stamp out political activists.

Neocon dark money front launches
desperate ad blitz as support for Ukraine forever war craters
https://thegrayzone.com/2023/08/21/neocon-dark-money-ad-blitz-ukraine-forever-war/
by Alexander Rubinstein
A PR offensive to inundate the
American public with pro-Ukraine war advertisements during the 2024 election is
the latest initiative of neocon chickenhawk
Bill Kristol. While targeted at GOP voters, the
campaign appears to be another Democratic Party front.
Defending
Democracy Together, a neoconservative outfit led by career chickenhawk
scribe Bill Kristol, has launched a new initiative
called “Republicans for Ukraine” to transform the 2024 presidential election
into a referendum on US funding for the NATO proxy war.
Urging
Republicans in Congress to support more funding for Ukraine in the upcoming
appropriations bill is also a key item on the agenda.
Kristol had defined himself as a leader
of the Republican Party’s neoconservative faction, bashing isolationist and
antiwar GOP figures on the pages of his now-defunct Weekly Standard magazine
while laying the intellectual groundwork for the invasion of Iraq through his
Project for a New American Century.
By
fashioning his Defending Democracy Together as a bastion of Never Trumpism, Kristol was able to
ingratiate himself with elite Democrats eager for Republican allies in their
messianic battle against the Bad Orange Man. His anti-Trump efforts ultimately
earned him a cringeworthy MSNBC tribute celebrating
the unrepentant neocon as “Woke Bill Kristol.”
Now, as
the Ukrainian counteroffensive fails and a majority of Americans declare opposition for the first time to sending more military aid to
Ukraine, Kristol is launching a multimillion dollar
ad blitz to keep the tanks slogging through the Donbas mud and the dark money
flowing into his bank accounts.

Zelensky holds court with Ukraine’s most
notorious neo-Nazi
https://thegrayzone.com/2023/08/16/zelensky-ukraines-notorious-neo-nazi/
by Alexander Rubinstein
Western
media has dismissed evidence of neo-Nazi influence in Ukraine by citing
President Zelensky’s Jewish heritage. But new footage
published by Zelensky shows the leader openly
collaborating with a fascist ideologue who once pledged to “lead the white
races of the world in a final crusade…against Semite-led Untermenschen.”
Ukrainian
President Vlodymyr Zelensky
has uploaded a video to his Telegram channel showing him holding court with one
of the most notorious neo-Nazis in modern Ukrainian history: Azov Battalion
founder Andriy Biletsky.
On August
14, just over an hour after Secretary of State Anthony Blinken
announced another $200 million in military aid to Kiev, Ukrainian President Vlodomyr Zelensky published the
video depicting what he called an “open conversation” with Ukraine’s 3rd
Separate Assault Brigade.
“I am
grateful to everyone who defends our country and people, who brings our victory
closer,” Zelensky wrote, following his encounter with
the unit on the outskirts of Bakhmut.
While
casual Western observers might not have realized it, the brigade Zelensky was addressing is actually the newest iteration of
Ukraine’s neo-Nazi Azov Battalion.
“The 3rd
separate assault brigade, excellent fighters,” Zelensky
wrote days after the consultation, in a Twitter post which also alluded to a
separate meeting with the Aidar Battalion, another
neo-fascist outfit that has been accused of war
crimes by Amnesty International. “They have stopped the enemy from advancing
towards Kostiantynivka and pushed the occupiers back
up to 8 kilometers.”
But the
group’s origins are no secret. Describing their most recent rebrand in a
YouTube video released in January, the unit explained: “Today we officially announce that the SSO AZOV is expanding to a
brigade. From now on, we are the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Ground
Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”

The September 11 Legacy of Forever
Wars, the Patriot Act, and Loss of Legal Rights
https://www.blackagendareport.com/september-11-legacy-forever-wars-patriot-act-and-loss-legal-rights
by Margaret Kimberley
On September 11 remember how legal rights were destroyed
under the Patriot Act and how plots for worldwide endless war were hatched.
Everyone should know what happened in Washington on September 14, 2001,
even though there is an exhortation to remember the attacks which took place on
September 11, 2001. On September 14 the Senate and the House of Representatives
passed joint resolutions which resulted in the Authorization for Use of Military Force of 2001 (AUMF) , which
President George W. Bush signed into law on September 18.
Just three days after September 11, when senators and members of congress
should have been asking hard questions about what happened on that fateful
date, they instead chose to give President Bush carte blanche to wage war
whenever and wherever he chose. In so doing they gave the same permission to
his successors and established a new doctrine that the U.S. not only can but
should wage endless warfare around the world.
Section 2 of the AUMF gives the president the authority “to use all
necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or
persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist
attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or
persons, in order to prevent any future acts of international terrorism against
the United States.” The vague and
broad language has led to Barack Obama’s drone
strikes in Yemen and Somalia, and to an attempt to wage war on Syria. Obama
claimed that the AUMF of 2001 authorized a continuation of war in Afghanistan
and the assassination of Anwar al-Awlaki. Presidents
have been given blank checks for kill lists, drone strikes, assassinations, and
joint military exercises because of this legislation. They merely claim some
effort is being made against ISIS, Al-Shabaab,
Al-Qaeda, the Taliban or any other international players to be named later.
Congress has the power to declare war but hasn’t done so since World War
II. They have handed over their prerogatives to president after president and
willingly made themselves irrelevant. Of course, war making is bipartisan and
congressional irrelevance is part of a larger plan. The degree of public
silence about elected representatives doing just what presidents want them to
do is quite tragic. That acquiescence resulted in another AUMF in 2002 which
authorized war against Iraq. Donald Trump’s assassination of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani was justified on
the grounds of this 2002 AUMF authorization.
The so-called War on Terror , which was in fact a war of terror, began in full force after September
11. In the intervening years more than 4.5 million people have died as a result
of US post-9/11 wars. 38 million more have been displaced as refugees in
Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen, Libya, and the Philippines. No
president is going to raise these inconvenient truths, nor will their errand
boys and girls who toil on their behalf in corporate media and in the halls of
congress.
The AUMF of 2001 was quickly followed by the Patriot Act which Congress
also passed hastily on October 25, 2001. The Patriot Ac
t rendered moot decades of legal precedent regarding
surveillance of individuals. Under the Patriot Act, the FBI can issue National
Security Letters without a judge’s approval, which give access to email, phone,
and bank records. The Patriot Act also prohibits recipients of NSLs from
revealing to anyone that they received them. So-called “sneak and peek”
searches are allowed under the Patriot Act. A home or business can be searched,
and the target doesn’t have to be notified until after the search takes place.
Let’s not forget that an entire new agency, the Department of Homeland Security
(DHS), was formed in the wake of 9/11 and it encompasses everything from
immigration laws to air travel.
It would appear that the terrorists won after all. The word democracy may
be elevated to sacred status, but in 20 years congress has not managed to
repeal the AUMF of 2001 or the Patriot Act. It appears that DHS is also
here to stay.
Remembrance of September 11 should be elevated above flag waving, and
maudlin sentiment expressed by the same politicians who make wars and increase
control over our lives. This columnist suggests that the dates September 14 and
October 25 be added to the pantheon of solemn commemorations.

Is the CIA in Your Underwear?
https://www.informationclearinghouse.info/57818.htm
by Judge Andrew P. Napolitano
In a year,
if a friend asks you if the CIA is in your underwear, you'd probably not take
the question seriously. You'd be wrong. The CIA is spending millions in tax
dollars to get into your underwear next year.
Eleven years ago, when this column asked if the CIA was in your kitchen,
folks who read only the title of the column mocked it. Yet, then-CIA Director
Gen. David Petraeus gave a talk to CIA analysts that
he fully expected to be kept secret. In the talk he revealed that CIA vendors
had discovered a means to log on to the computer chips in kitchen microwave
ovens and dishwashers. From there, they could listen in real time to the
conversations in a kitchen if those chatting were nearby the appliances.
Unfortunately for Petraeus, but fortunately for
the Constitution, one of his analysts was so critical of the CIA's disdain for
constitutional norms that the analyst recorded a major portion of Petraeus's talk and leaked it to the media. Is the CIA in
your kitchen? Yes, not physically, but virtually.
The CIA, notwithstanding a clause in its charter that prohibits it from
engaging in surveillance in the United States or from engaging in any law
enforcement activities, has a long history of domestic spying without search
warrants.
That last phrase "without search warrants" when used in
conjunction with CIA spying is redundant. The CIA does not deal with search
warrants. It behaves as if the Fourth Amendment — and the First (protecting the
freedom of speech and of the press) and Fifth (protecting life, liberty and
property), for that matter — do not exist or somehow do not pertain to its
agents.
Not long ago, I was challenged to a public debate at the Conservative
Political Action Conference by the general who was then the head of the
National Security Agency, the CIA's domestic surveillance cousin. The topic of
the debate was whether domestic warrantless spying is constitutional. I
accepted the challenge and aggressively pressed the general on the notorious
lack of fidelity that the 17 federal spying agencies have for the Constitution
in general, and specifically the Fourth Amendment.
The general gave me two answers, both of which would have flunked a bar
examination. First, he argued that the Fourth Amendment only protects against
unreasonable surveillance, and his 60,000 domestic spies were behaving
reasonably. After the laughter died down, I pointed out that the Supreme Court
has held that all searches and seizures — all surveillance — conducted without
search warrants are as a matter of law unreasonable, and thus violative of the amendment.
Then he retreated to a post-9/11 argument crafted by the Department of
Justice in the George W. Bush administration. That argument offers that the
Fourth Amendment only restrains law enforcement; it does not restrain the
intelligence community. I pointed out that this view is defied
by both language and history.
The plain language of the amendment has no exceptions to it. Rather, it
protects "the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses,
papers, and effects."
I then reminded him — we were friends, mind you; but I could not let him
get away with publicly trashing the document he and I had both sworn to
preserve, protect and defend — that the Fourth Amendment was written in the
aftermath of British intelligence agents breaking down the doors of colonists'
homes ostensibly looking for compliance with the Stamp Act of 1765 but really
looking for subversive materials by folks whom today we call the Founding
Fathers.
I present this brief background so as to offer a flavor for the mindset
of the feds who spy on us and to address the latest craze among senior level
intelligence folks in the Biden administration.
Last week, the Director of National Intelligence — she is the nominal
head of all 17 federal surveillance agencies — revealed to Congress that she
had spent $22 million in order to develop cotton fibers that she called smart
clothing. The fibers will enable the CIA and other federal spies to record
audio, video and geolocation data from your shirt,
pants, socks and even your underwear. She billed this as the largest single
investment ever made to develop Smart ePants.
Smarty pants — how appropriate is that name for federal intrusion? Smarty pants is the jerk who can't stop talking and won't
change the subject.

Musings from the Margins # 3: “The
Crimes of the White West are Coming Home Again, Or as Malcom X Said, ‘The Chickens are Coming Home to Roost’”
by Ajamu
Baraka
Black Agenda Report Editor and Columnist Ajamu Baraka has thoughts on September 11, Haiti,
white supremacy in Biden’s Ukraine policy, the criminalization of dissent, and
other issues.
·
September 11. Less than two years
after the infamous “Powell Memo” that called the capitalist rulers to action to
protect their system by launching a more coherent counterrevolution, the U.S.
inspired and supported coup in Chile that ended the government of socialist
Salvador Allende in 1973, imposed a right-wing
neoliberal regime and signaled that the U.S. was committed to war abroad and
domestically to maintain the capitalist order.
·
Why is it so difficult for
liberals to recognize the role played by democrats in undermining the
legitimacy of U.S. institutions and “liberal” values? Liberals seem unable to
accept that the era of liberal reformism is over and that their party has been
taken over by neoliberals coming out of the right-wing Reagan revolution.
By blindly embracing neoliberalism liberals ensured
that classical reform liberalism would become anachronistic and open the way
for rightist demigods like Obama and Trump – both representing competing,
right-wing fractions of the U.S. ruling class.
·
I wonder why people don’t see the
obvious and that is most "Karen's" are not republican Trump
supporters but liberals!!
·
Neoliberals created Russiagate that established the ideological and political
foundation for the expansion of the totalitarian power of the state. With the
collaboration of the capitalist press and tech companies, the government
produced and disseminated an “official line” on issues from Russia, the
Ukrainian war and China to what would constitute the acceptable modes of
political dissent - defending forest land shutting down highways, opposing the
Biden war in Ukraine are increasingly forbidden and can not only get you
murdered but can get you a legal case.
·
It is important to keep in mind
that the foundation for Russiagate was erected on the
repressive legislative superstructure under the Bush and Obama Administrations.
The result? Today, opposition is systematically criminalized in the U.S.
The indictments of the Uhuru 3 for opposing Ukraine
war, charges of domestic terrorism and conspiracy in the fight against
Cop-City, and the ongoing attempts to extradite Julian Assange
represent the consolidation and normalization of bipartisan totalitarian power.
·
White supremacist ideology is not
reducible to race. Some of the most virulent white supremacists that I have
encountered have been non-Europeans.
·
There is something to what I call
the psychopathology of white supremacy. It is a “racialized
narcissistic cognitive disorder that centers so-called white people’s and
European civilization and renders the afflicted with an inability to perceive
objective reality in the same way as others. This affliction is not reducible
to the race of so-called whites but can affect all those who have come in
contact with the ideological and cultural mechanisms of the Pan-European
colonial project.”
·
When Zelensky,
Biden, Macron, talk about "common European values," Africans and all
non-European peoples understand its real meaning. It is a call for white
Western solidarity in response to the global shift of power away from the West.
It is essentially an appeal to support white supremacy through the maintenance
of white material power that is based on the extractivist,
parasitic relationship between the “West” and the rest of us.
·
RICO charges in Atlanta. This is
what fascism looks like. Activists charged with felony intimidation for
distributing flyers calling a state trooper a “murderer” for his involvement in
the fatal shooting of an environmental protester in the woods?
·
Sanders
says progressives must “demand that
the Democratic Party, not just Biden, have the guts to take on corporate greed
and the massive levels of income and wealth inequality that we see today."
Huh? Like supporting Build Back Better and then caving to party bosses and
separating it from the infrastructure legislation that they really wanted
because it was another corporate giveaway. And what made that surrender to the
party bosses so insulting for many democrats is the pretending like they were
really going to pass BBB later after they passed the infrastructure bill.
·
Sanders
demonstrates why he was revealed as the
sheepdog that he was. He was never committed to struggling for real power in
the democrat party. That is why he sold out his supporters and surrendered. Sanders is nothing more than an opportunist democrat and a
fraud.
·
Haiti!! Oppose the racist military
assault on Haiti orchestrated by Joe Biden and supported by his coterie of
uncle toms from CARICOM to the mother of all handkerchief head, buck-dancing
toms in the country – Hakeem Jeffries.
·
The democrats are the party of
war, wall street and white power. To pretend otherwise
is to be dishonest and immoral. Smash the duopoly! Both parties are fascist but
neoliberals who control the state apparatus are the real leading edge of a
particular historic form of neofascism in the U.S.
·
Liberal race hustlers pretend they
love all “Black” people. African revolutionaries don’t play that game. In the
U.S. the fascist convergence of the state and white colonial/capitalist power
and expressed in the strengthening of the repressive apparatus of the state is
taking place in cities run by “Black” democrats - and more specifically, Black
neoliberal democrats. This is why I argue that democrats are more dangerous
fascists than republicans because they face no real opposition.
·
We must continue to oppose the
racist anti-Chinese bashing and Russia phobia that is becoming normalized in
the U.S., but as Africans we will never forget that China and Russia threw
Libya under the imperialist bus. Save the bullsh*t
that you didn’t know that with a UN Security Council authorization to establish
a no-fly zone that the U.S. and NATO would expand that authorization into a
regime change operation and destroy the country in the process.
·
Do not lose your minds and
anti-imperialist sensibilities with the expansion of BRICS. Multipolarity
as represented by structures like BRICS is important and reflects the necessary
alteration of the international balance of power away from the 500 year
dominance of the Pan European colonial/capitalist project. However, a
peoples-centered revolutionary project that places power in the hands of the
oppressed classes, nations and peoples of the world as part of the transition
to socialism is still the historic objective.
·
U.S. and NATO Out of Africa, Shut Down AFRICOM!
·
Defend the Uhuru
3!!

“A Good Investment”: The Ukraine
War and the US Arms Racket
by Binoy Kampmark
It all tallies. War,
investments and returns. The dividends, solid, though
the effort expended – at least by others – awful and bloody. While a
certain narrative in US politics continues in the vein of traditional cant and
hustling ceremony regarding the Ukraine War – “noble freedom fighters, we
salute you!” twinned with “Russian aggressors will be defeated” – there are the
inadvertently honest ones let things slip. A subsidised
war pays, especially when it is fought by others.
The latter
narrative has been something of a retort, an attempt to deter a growing
wobbling sentiment in the US about continuing support for Ukraine. In a
Brookings study published in April, evidence of wearying was detected. “A plurality of Americans, 46%, said
the United States should stay the course in supporting Ukraine for only one to
two years, compared with 38% who said the United States should stay the course
for as long as it takes.”
In early
August, a CNN survey found that 51% of respondents believed that
Washington had done enough to halt Russian military aggression in Ukraine, with
45% approving of additional funding to the war effort. A breakdown of the figures on ideological grounds revealed that additional funding is supported by
69% of liberals, 44% of moderates and 31% of conservatives. In Congress,
opposition to greater, ongoing spending is growing among the Republicans,
reflecting increasing concern among GOP voters that too much is being done to
prop up Kyiv.
Such a
mood has been anticipated by number crunching types keen to reduce human life
to an adjustable unit on a spreadsheet. The Centre for European Policy
Analysis, for example, suggested that a
“cost-benefit analysis” would be useful regarding US support for Ukraine. “Its
producing wins at almost every level,” came the
confident assessment. In spectacularly vulgar language, the centre notes that,
“from numerous perspectives, when viewed from a bang-per-buck perspective, US
and Western support for Ukraine is an incredibly cost-effective investment.”
War-intoxicated
Democrats would do well to remind their Republican colleagues about such wins,
notably to those great patriots known as the US Arms Industry. Aid packages to
Ukraine, while dressed up as noble, democratic efforts to ameliorate a
suffering country’s position vis-à-vis Russia, are much more than that.
In May
2022, for instance, President Joe Biden signed a bill providing
Kyiv $40.1 billion in emergency funding, split between $24.6 for military
programs, and $15.5 billion for non-military objects. Even then, it was clear
that one group would prove the greatest beneficiary. Stephen Semler of the Security Policy Reform Institute was
unequivocal: US military contractors.

“Avoiding Nuclear War”
The relative ranges Soviet missiles and bombers — the Il-28,
SS-4 and SS-5 — based on Cuba in nautical miles. (U.S. Defense Intelligence
Agency, Wikimedia Commons)
https://consortiumnews.com/2023/09/12/avoiding-nuclear-war/
by Edward Lozansky
The road to possible nuclear
Armageddon has been littered with lost opportunities for peaceful co-existence
with Russia and signposted by repeated U.S. provocations, but Ukraine’s
neutrality remains key to everyone’s security, writes Edward Lozansky.
As the
list of those who take the looming threat of nuclear war seriously keeps
growing, let’s try to analyze what brought us to this sad state of affairs.
During the
Cold War there were similar dangerous moments, but John F Kennedy and Nikita
Khrushchev, as well as Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev, managed to avoid
the worst-case scenario. George H.W. Bush talked in 1990 about a “Europe whole
and free” and a new “security architecture from Vancouver to Vladivostok,”
while Boris Yeltsin, during his 1992 address to the joint chambers of Congress,
exclaimed, “God bless America.”
So, what
went wrong? Why are we talking about nuclear war again? According to
Washington, Putin and his desire to restore the Soviet empire are to blame.
Moscow points the finger back at Washington for its vision of a unipolar world order under U.S. hegemony. Here is my brief
take and I would be happy to debate those who see it differently. Perhaps
during such exchanges, we could come up with some ideas for avoiding our mutual
extinction.

It’s Hard to Think About the End of the World
https://consortiumnews.com/2023/09/13/its-hard-to-think-about-the-end-of-the-world/
by Caitlin Johnstone
During an appearance on ABC’s This Week with Jonathan Karl, U.S.
Secretary of State Tony Blinken explicitly said that
the U.S. would not oppose Ukraine using U.S.-supplied longer-range missiles to
attack deep inside Russian territory, a move that Moscow has previously called a “red line” which would make the United States a direct party to
the conflict.
“We
understand that the United States is considering sending those long-range
missiles that Ukraine has been asking for for a long
time,” Karl said in the interview. “These are long-range missiles, 200 miles in
range. Are you okay if those missiles allow Ukraine to attack deep into Russian
territory?”
“In terms
of their targeting decisions, it’s their decision, not ours,” answered Blinken after some bloviation.
“We’ve
seen an increasing number of attacks on Russian territory by Ukrainian drones,
some in Moscow, Rostov-on-Don just a couple of days ago. Did you bring that
up?” asked Karl.
“No,” said
Blinken.
“Are you —
are you okay with — I mean, obviously, they’re — it’s their decisions, but is
this war now escalating into Russia?” asked Karl.
“Jon, we
haven’t encouraged and we haven’t enabled any use of weapons outside of
Ukraine’s territory,” Blinken said.
“Having
said that, let’s take a step back for a second. Virtually every single day the
Russians are attacking indiscriminately throughout the entire country of
Ukraine. Just during the 48 hours that I was there going in, more missiles were
launched at civilian targets, including in Kyiv while I was there; a horrific
attack on a marketplace, people just going to buy food, civilians, had nothing
to do with this war — killed 17 people. This is the daily life for Ukrainians.
This is what they face every single day. So they have to make the basic
decisions about how they’re going to defend their territory and how they’re
working to take back what’s been seized from them. Our role, the role of dozens
of other countries around the world that are supporting them, is to help them
do that. And ultimately, what we all want is an end to this Russian aggression
and an end to the aggression that, again, is just and is durable. That’s what
Ukrainians want more than anyone else. That’s what we’re working toward.”
The
interview then concluded without any further follow-up from Karl. By
successfully winding down the clock babbling about what Ukraine has a right to do, Blinken avoided discussing the real issue of what the U.S. itself is doing.

“A Very British Arms Fair”

This week,
35,000 arms company representatives, military officers and state officials from
around the world are congregating at the Excel Centre in Newham,
East London.
Over four
days, [Sept. 12-15] guests at Defence and Security
Equipment International (DSEI) can watch demonstrations of new weapons systems,
listen to keynote speakers euphemise the global
appetite for war-making, visit warships moored on the Thames, and make
connections with buyers and sellers via a dedicated networking app.
For the more
sportingly inclined, there is the tri-force tug of war to show off the brawn
and teamwork of the British Army, Royal Air Force and Royal Navy.
DSEI is a
significant opportunity for states, their militaries and the arms industry to
connect in the global race to (re)arm that is currently underway. Global
military spending passed the $2 trillion mark for the first time in 2021; in
2022 it hit $2.2 trillion.
The
immediate cause of the jump is the war in Ukraine, as a result of both Russian
and Western increases in military spending. But stockpiles are dwindling, and
inflation and shortages in supply chains pose a challenge for industry.

No, the

an even broader war. A war that is taking place everywhere on the globe, even
as I speak, and that involves virtually everyone on the planet, young and old,
male and female, military and civilian. It is the war of every government against
its own population and every international institution against free humanity.
This is no
ordinary war, however. Most of the victims of this warfare aren’t even able to
identify it as war, nor do they understand that they are combatants in it.
It’s called
fifth-generation warfare, and I’m here to tell you all about it.

Environmental Modification
Techniques (ENMOD) and the Turkey-Syria Earthquake: An Expert Investigation is Required
by Prof Michel Chossudovsky
Since the February 2023 earthquakes in Turkey and Syria,
several regions of the World have experienced “extreme weather conditions”
and “climate events” including earthquakes, floods, and wildfires. Were
these events the result of environmental modification techniques (ENMOD) and
geo-engineering (e.g. Morocco, Libya, Hawaii…)?
Was the February 6, 2023 earthquake in Southern
Anatolia the result of environmental modification techniques
(ENMOD)?
While no direct evidence or proof can be firmly established,
there has not been a single “major earthquake” in Southern Anatolia in the

Does that not “tell us something” regarding
the “probability” or “likelihood” of a “major earthquake”
occurring in Southern Turkey?
Update: The Political and Social Implications
of the February 2023 Earthquakes
The economic, social and geopolitical impacts of the
February 2023 two earthquakes in Southern Anatolia are far-reaching.
Within Turkey, the earthquakes have not only
resulted in economic, social and political chaos to the
detriment of the Erdogan government, they have also
been followed by attempts on the part of US-NATO to undermine Erdogan’s reelection (May 14, 2023), largely in view of
Ankara’s unspoken strategic alliance with Moscow, not to mention its rapprochement
with Teheran.
Turkey is both a “NATO Heavyweight”
as well as “An Ally of Russia”. Sounds Contradictory . . . .

Weather Warfare: "Beware the
US Military’s Experiments with Climatic Warfare"
by Prof Michel Chossudovsky
I initiated my research on Environmental Modification Techniques
(ENMOD) in 2001 focussing on the HAARP System of
Antennas, in Gokona, Alaska.
The HAARP facility was fully operational starting in the
mid-1990s with advanced capabilities.
While HAARP was closed down in 2014,
ENMOD techniques have in the course of the last ten years become
increasingly sophisticated as well as precise. Much of the documentation has
become classified.
In the United States, Directed Energy Weapons (DEW)
are the object of research by several agencies linked to the Pentagon,
including DARPA, the Air Force Research Laboratory, the Office of
Naval Research among others.
Of relevance to the assessment of recent climatic
disasters, this article first published by The Ecologist, (December 7, 2007) provides an
overview as well as a history. It also confirms the role
of private military contractors in the development of
HAARP including BAE Systems Inc and Raytheon.

“50 Years After
Chile’s Coup, Salvador Allende’s Grandson Speaks
About Britain’s Role in the Rise of Pinochet”
by John McEvoy
and Pablo Navarrete from Declassified UK
In Santiago, Declassified spoke with
Pablo Sepúlveda Allende
about Margaret Thatcher’s friendship with Chile’s dictator and how Labour helped him evade justice for crimes against
humanity.
On 11 September 1973, Chile’s socialist president
Salvador Allende was overthrown in a CIA-sponsored
military coup, paving the way for a brutal military dictatorship under General
Augusto Pinochet.
Declassified
US files show why Washington wanted to take him out.
On 5
November 1970, shortly after Allende had won Chile’s
election, US Secretary of State and National Security Adviser Henry Kissinger noted that Allende “poses one of the most serious challenges ever
faced in this hemisphere”.
The
example “of a successful elected Marxist government in Chile would surely have
an impact on… other parts of the world”, Kissinger added. He thus recommended
that the US government “do all we can to keep him from consolidating power”.
Over the
next three years, the CIA orchestrated a series of covert operations in Chile
designed to destabilise the Allende
government, and prepare the ground for its removal.
On 16
September 1973, just five days after the coup, Kissinger told Nixon in
a private phone call that: “We didn’t do it. I mean we helped them. [Redacted]
created the conditions as great as possible”.
Over the
following years, the US government supported the Chilean dictatorship, as it
rounded up, tortured, and murdered its political opponents. In 1976, Kissinger
privately told Pinochet:
“We are sympathetic with what you are trying to do here”.
While
Washington’s role in the 1973 coup is notorious, less is known about Britain’s
secret campaign against Allende, its support for the
Chilean dictatorship, and the Labour government’s
decision to protect Pinochet from extradition.
On the
50-year anniversary of the coup, Declassified
sat down with Salvador Allende’s grandson, Pablo Sépulveda Allende, to discuss the
sordid history of British interference in Chile.

“Xi Jinping
Is Done With the Established World Order”
by Michael Schuman
The
world’s most powerful leaders gathered in New Delhi for the year’s premier
diplomatic event—the G20 summit—but China’s Xi Jinping
deemed it not worth his time. His absence sends a stark signal: China is done
with the established world order.
Ditching
the summit marks a dramatic turn in China’s foreign policy. For the past
several years, Xi has apparently sought to make China an alternative to the
West. Now Xi is positioning his country as a full-on opponent—ready to align
its own bloc against the United States, its partners, and the international
institutions they support.
Xi’s break
with the establishment has been a long time coming. His predecessors integrated
China into the U.S.-led global order by joining its foundational institutions,
such as the World Bank and the World Trade Organization. For much of his tenure
over the past decade, Xi has kept a foot in the door to that Western order—even
as China’s relations with the U.S. has. . . .

“Transparency International's
Covert Agenda: A Pawn in Western Intelligence's Game”
by Kit Klarenberg
On July 24, it was revealed that
Transparency International’s New Zealand wing had enlisted the specialist
advice of some of the country’s biggest, most notorious lobbying firms on
improving ethical standards in the political and corporate lobbying industry. A
local businessman, who’d independently offered to assist TINZ in cleaning up
the sector, blew the whistle.
Expressing
“astonishment,” they compared TINZ’s consultation of high-ranking lobbyists on
how to clean up their own industry as akin to “police recruiting gang members
to determine new rules on pursuit of fleeing drivers.” Yet, anyone familiar
with Transparency International’s history would hardly be surprised.
Founded by
World Bank apparatchiks in 1993, Transparency International (TI) has
relentlessly exposed public sector corruption in the
Global South while leaving government-enabled
criminality in rich nations unexamined. In other words, it is a means of
perpetuating privatization overseas for the benefit of Western investors.
Accordingly, the organization is financed by a welter of major corporations,
including firms implicated in industrial-scale corruption and tax evasion, such
as Google, Microsoft, and Siemens.
The
mainstream media never subject Transparency International or its dubious annual
Global Corruption Barometer and Corruption Perceptions Index to critical
scrutiny, invariably giving prominent billing to the organization’s regular
publications and pronouncements. Nonetheless, a report on the TINZ controversy by New Zealand public radio contained a
remarkable disclosure. The division was noted to receive sizable funding from
several local government sources, including Canberra’s equivalents of the CIA
and NSA, the Security Intelligence Service and the Government Communications
Security Bureau.
TINZ’s CEO
defended this sponsorship, arguing spying agencies “have
a strong interest in fighting corruption – that is one of their primary issues,
the things that they do.” Western intelligence services have indeed been
heavily focused on “fighting corruption” in recent years. As we shall see,
though, the objective is to weaponize the issue in
order to demonize and destabilize “enemy” governments and perhaps even foment
regime change. Frequently too, Transparency International has played a starring
role in these efforts.

Poverty Rose in 2022 as Inflation
Surged and Pandemic Aid Was Terminated
by Max Jones
In the aftermath of pandemic relief
programs such as increased unemployment and nutrition benefits, greater rental
assistance and the child tax credit — policies which the Biden administration
allowed to expire in 2021 — Americans faced the
largest one-year surge in poverty ever recorded.
According
to a report from the Census Bureau published
on Sept. 12, the sharpest increase in poverty affected children, with child
poverty more than doubling from a record low of 5.2 percent to 12.4 percent.
This was indicated by the Supplemental Poverty Measure, evaluated by the U.S.
Census Bureau, which “factors in the impact of government assistance and
geographical differences in the cost of living.”

86 Cents For
a Day of Work Is a Reality For Most Incarcerated People
by Tina Vásquez and Derek
R. Trumbo, Sr.
Note for readers: Each of the incarcerated men quoted in
this piece is using a pseudonym to protect against retaliation from prison
officials.
The
outside world may be in the grips of inflation and financial instability, but
inside a Burgin, Kentucky, prison, the financial woes more closely resemble the
Great Depression.
For many
incarcerated inside the Northpoint Training Center,
the primary concern isn’t how they will pay for gas, insurance, or even rent
upon release from prison. The uncertainty they feel is far more urgent. Each day
is spent worrying about how they will cover the tremendous cost of their own
incarceration.
Steve
works as a landscaper at the Northpoint Training
Center, where he says he does his best to try to make the prison “look good.”
Rain or shine, Monday through Friday, Steve spends eight hours a day mowing, hauling gravel, groundskeeping,
painting, maintaining the field, laying concrete, and performing other
backbreaking manual labor. For this work, he receives $1.76 a day—and there is
no chance of a raise. These already meager funds rapidly dwindle once he
purchases basic necessities from the prison.
“I’m
scared to death about my financial future outside the fence because I can
barely afford to live behind the fence,” Steve told Prism. “I don’t have anyone
to take me in or help me out or anything once I’m free.”
If Steve
saves every penny he earns for the next 10 months, he’ll have $350.
“That
wouldn’t even pay a month’s rent at a motel when I get out,” Steve said. “In
six years, I’d have $2,534.40—that’s about half of what a corrections officer
makes here in two weeks. My six years of savings amounts to their two weeks of
take-home pay. I may be a convicted felon, but even I’ll have to live once I’m
released.”

“Dilemmas
of Humanity Conference in the US Outlines Principle Task: Organize a Working
Class Movement to Defeat the Empire”
by Natalia Marques
“We know
this system is in crisis,” said Manolo De Los Santos,
co-executive director of the People’s Forum and lifelong communist, opening the
Dilemmas of Humanity: A Socialist Horizon conference in Atlanta, Georgia. This
conference was organized by the International People’s Assembly-North America
as part of the IPA’s international conference series, “Dilemmas of Humanity,”
which will conclude with
an international conference in Johannesburg in October. The US-based conference
was held in Atlanta’s Neighborhood Church on September 2, and supported by
organizations such as Community Movement Builders, Faith Coalition to Stop Cop
City, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, the Peoples Forum, Unión de Vecinos, and the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement.
“We see
the crisis everywhere,” De Los Santos continued. “And maybe for the first time
in many years, we’re not the only ones saying that there is a crisis. Us communists have been saying that there is a crisis for
the past 200 years. But now you have even experts of the World Economic Forum
saying the world is in crisis
.”
If the
world is in crisis, the working class is certainly feeling the brunt of it.
Workers in the United States are no exception. Studies show that a
majority cannot cover basic living expenses each
week. Wages have stagnated since the early 1970s, only growing by 17.5% despite
worker productivity rising three times faster at
61.8%. Homelessness rates have been growing nationwide by a
steady 6% each year since 2017, as city streets crowd with those in the deepest
of economic despairs. Climate change is causing natural disasters that wreak
havoc on the already precarious conditions of the working class, whose
neglected residential structures cannot handle the
onslaught of extreme weather conditions and who must go to work whether or not
they risk death in
the process.
It is this
world that the socialist movement is confronted with. And it is only the
workers who change it—as De Los Santos said, “Our hands built this world. And
the same way we built it up, we can destroy it and build it up again.”

First There Were Neo-Nazis, What
Should We Do About the Powerful Israel Lobby?
by Philip Giraldi
Make
them register as “foreign agents”
World Jewry is on
the attack against Elon Musk, who has
threatened to sue the Jewish advocacy group Anti-Defamation League (ADL) for as
much as $22 billion for defaming him and doing material damage amounting to
many billions of dollars to his company X, which used to be known as Twitter, falsely
smearing the platform and its owner for allegedly providing an antisemitic haven for “hate speech.” Per Musk, the ADL has
gone so far as to put pressure on potential advertisers not to do business with
him and to engage in a total boycott of X.
I for one can only say “Thank you
Mr. Musk and it is only regrettable that no one did anything against an
organization dedicated to spewing hatred directed against many Americans while
also seeking to deprive an entire nation of constitutionally guaranteed freedom
of speech. And while you are at it, I would also recommend that you take a look
at the other groups that are partners in Zionist crime, most significantly the
American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) which has now created a PAC
dedicated to defeating any politician who is known to be critical of Israel.
After the 2020 national election, AIPAC boasted that the PAC
that it had set up had raised $17 million to defeat candidates critical of
Israel, while also supporting those politicians who were friends, 95% of whom
were elected. To pretend that the Lobby exists to provide some kind of
perspective or balance in foreign policy is a case of who is kidding whom on
the issue of Israel. ADL and AIPAC are dedicated to enriching and protecting a
foreign country that is on a daily basis engaged in a broad series of crimes
against humanity as well as war crimes and which is characterized by
persecution based on religion and race. ADL and AIPAC have no concern for what
damage is done to the American people due to their persistent corruption of our
body politic and media to achieve their treasonous objectives.”
So what has the physically hideous
and mentally deficient Mr. Jonathan Greenblatt, the
Chief Executive Officer of ADL, been up to and why has it taken so long for
some Americans, to include Musk and Tucker Carlson, to react to being abused,
stripped of rights, and vilified every time anyone dares to speak up? Well, the
simple answer is that anyone who dares to challenge Israel’s vile behavior or
Jewish control over large parts of the United States economy plus near total
dominance of its political class can count on being attacked in the media and
labeled an antisemite, which means that,
increasingly, one might well be charged with a “hate crime” which can bring
with it both civil and criminal penalties. Even at the state level, in 35
jurisdictions, one can now even be denied a job or benefits for supporting an
economic boycott of the Jewish state.
Greenblatt
and company believe that they can get away with murder, both metaphorically and
literally, because they are protected by their money, media access and the
political cover that they have flat out bought and also obtained through
intimidation and threats. The interaction with Tucker Carlson began when Greenblatt began fulminating over Tucker’s willingness to
discuss on his talk show controversial subjects that are familiar to
conservatives but are generally banned by the media, to include “replacement
theory.” The theory suggests that the decline of birth rates of whites is
deliberate due to government policies that make it economically difficult to
raise more than one or two children. The decline in workers is being replaced
by the hordes of illegal immigrants allowed into the country, which will
produce a permanent Democratic Party majority that will be docile and
controllable. Jewish groups are seen as enthusiastic for the open borders and
cultural and political shifts that go with them.

How Ron Desantis
puts Israel first and assaults the speech rights of American citizens
https://thegrayzone.com/2023/07/30/ron-desantis-israel-speech-rights-american/
by Alexander Rubenstein
While posing as a defender of free
speech, Florida’s Ron DeSantis has played point man
on the Israel lobby’s crusade to criminalize American citizens for their
exercising their constitutionally-protected right to boycott Israel.
Florida Governor and Republican presidential
candidate Ron DeSantis has spent his career as an
elected official pushing an array of laws attacking the free speech of American
citizens who exercise their constitutionally-protected right to boycott Israel.
One anti-boycott bill DeSantis championed sought to
send violators to prison for 10 years.
At the same time, the governor has
sought to position himself as a champion of the First Amendment. During a 2022 press
conference, he stood behind a podium emblazoned with the phrase, “Gov.
DeSantis Defends Free Speech.” Flanked by medical
professionals bearing signs that read “free speech, free state,” and “science
not censorship,” DeSantis slammed the censorship
regime erected to enforce public compliance to Covid-19 restrictions.
Yet, when it comes to silencing
critics of his major financial benefactors, and limiting the First Amendment
rights of American citizens to choose where and where not to spend their
hard-earned dollars, DeSantis is more pro-mandate
than pro-Madison.
The most recent of DeSantis’ many assaults on the right to boycott came this
July 17, as he stood before a Christian Zionist group which supports Israel on
the basis that it is the future landing pad for the Messiah.
Branding himself the “most
pro-Israel governor in the United States,” the Florida Republican announced an
official investigation into the financial ratings firm Morningstar over
allegations related to Florida’s ban on the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions
(BDS) movement.
“Today, I am happy to make — and
this law just took effect at the beginning of July — I’m happy to announce for
everybody, that Florida has formally instituted an investigation against
Morningstar for violations of our anti-BDS law. We’re not letting them target
Israel and get away with it, we’re using our tools to fight back,” DeSantis announced at a conference of Christians United for
Israel (CUFI). Morningstar has been accused by the
state of Florida of downgrading companies that are associated with Israel.

Libya’s Attempt to Normalize
Relations with the Zionist Entity is a Multilayered Treason
Libyans protest Foreign Minister's meeting with Israeli

by Essam Elkorghli
There are Arab governments going along with the U.S. push to
normalize relations with Israel. But people throughout the region are adamantly
opposed to such treachery, as the now suspended Foreign Minister of Libya
discovered.
Following
the destruction of Libya by NATO in 2011, the country has had consecutive
governments that were parachuted into the country by the United Nations that
serve the interest not of Libyans but of the transnational elite, lobbyists,
and corrupt officials. The recent scandal of Libya’s Government of National
Unity (GNU), spearheaded by Abd Alhamid
Dbaiba, was the Foreign Minister of Libya’s meeting with
Eli Cohen, the Foreign Minister of Israel (hereafter, “Zionist entity”) last
week to seek normalization of relations. This must be seen as part of the US
push in the region to launch a series of normalization of states with the
Zionist entity, which has occurred with Morocco, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain,
and Sudan. Yet, this shameful act contradicts what Libya has historically stood
up for, and that is the national liberation of Palestine and disposing of the
Zionist settler colonialism.

vowing that the G20 would do everything in its power to make the world
extremely Sustainable.
But which
intergovernmental organization loves Sustainability the most? It’s hard to say
because these two very distinct groups with vastly different visions for the
future can’t stop plagiarizing each other.

will leverage the G20’s convening power and its collective resolve
to fully and effectively implement the 2030 Agenda
and accelerate progress toward the SDGs, in a timely
manner, to shape the world we want to see for our future

We reaffirm the call for the implementation of the
2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in its three dimensions: economic,
social and environmental, in a balanced and integrated manner by mobilising the means required to implement the 2030 Agenda.

the fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising out of the utilisation of genetic resources…
3.
On the vital
importance of Addressing Climate Change
G20
(2023 G20 New Delhi Leaders’
Declaration):
We commit to urgently accelerate our actions
to address environmental crises and challenges including climate
change. We recognize that the impacts of climate change are being
experienced worldwide, particularly by the poorest

We note with concern that global ambition
and implementation to address climate change remain insufficient
to achieve the temperature goal of the Paris Agreement
to hold the increase in the global average temperature
to well below 2°C above preindustrial levels, and pursue efforts
to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C above pre-industrial
levels. We highlight the importance of ambitious action on all
pillars of the Paris Agreement, taking into account the best

the leading role in the global health governance, while
supporting other UN relevant agencies’ activities. […]
We support the leading role

Nigerian
Trade Unions Stage Two-day Strike Amid Economic Crisis
https://www.blackagendareport.com/nigerian-trade-unions-stage-two-day-strike-amid-economic-crisis
by Abayomi Azikiwe
Nigerian workers went on a two-day strike as the U.S.
pressured their government to interfere in neighboring Niger. The
people are fighting back against neo-colonial policies that create suffering
throughout the region.
Nigeria is Africa’s most populous state and is
listed as having the largest economy on the continent with huge deposits of
oil, natural gas and other strategic resources.
In possession of these material assets along with the 223 million people
that inhabit the West African state, the achievements of Nigeria should be
limitless.
However, the system of neo-colonialism in Africa, where the national
wealth of various states largely benefits imperialism, is still maintaining a
dominant position over the labor and resources of the people. This system of
exploitation constitutes the major impediment to genuine sovereignty, economic
independence and social emancipation. The Federal Republic of Nigeria
represents a case in point for the burgeoning struggle to eradicate
neo-colonial rule.
Trade
Unions Demand Economic Relief
In recent weeks the two main trade union federations in Nigeria, the
Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Nigerian Labor Congress (NLC), have given
voice to the suffering of the workers and impoverished majority within the
country. Both the TUC and NLC, among others, are demanding sweeping economic
programs to ameliorate the decline in real wages due to the elimination of fuel
subsidies and the imposition of higher taxes on consumer goods.
These measures were enacted by President Bola Tinubu
in the immediate aftermath of his ascendancy to political office. In addition
to raising the prices on petroleum by discarding subsidies
which kept the cost of fuel down, the president declared a food emergency
inside the country. Although Tinubu stated that the
money which will remain with the federal government by no longer subsidizing
fuel would be invested in agricultural production to reduce the importation of
foodstuffs. Despite this stated objective, it will take considerable time to
implement higher yields for crops and livestock production.
The NLC and TUC had already threatened to strike just weeks prior to the
September 6 and 7 work stoppages. The nationwide industrial action was labeled
a “warning strike” indicating that if the issues of importance to labor were
not addressed, the workers were prepared to call an indefinite general strike.

“The
Pyramid Scheme That is Racial Capitalism”
https://www.blackagendareport.com/index.php/pyramid-scheme-racial-capitalism
by Jon Jeter
Black people are both the focus of racist hate and of
capitalist predation.
On August 26, a lone white gunman, 21-year-old Ryan Christopher Palmeter, fired 11 rounds from his semi-automatic weapon
into the windshield of a car parked outside a Jacksonville Dollar General,
killing the African American driver. Then he walked into the discount store,
and fatally shot two other African Americans before turning the gun on himself.
Palmeter left
behind a manifesto indicating his displeasure with African Americans,
reminiscent of another 21-year-old white gunman, Dylan Roof, who eight years
earlier sat outside the Emanuel AME church in Charleston, South Carolina.
Finishing off a bottle of Smirnoff’s Ice, he pulled a Glock
handgun from his waistband, walked into the church and opened fire, killing a
pastor and eight of his parishioners, all of them Black.
Roof’s objective, he wrote in his manifesto, was to start a race war by
sounding the alarm and alerting his fellow whites to the African Americans who
“are raping our women and taking over the country.”
In response to the Jacksonville shooting, President Joe Biden noted that
the attack coincided with the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington, and
then, the cognitively impaired president of the free world declared that “white
supremacy has no place in America.”
All of those Black corpses suggest otherwise.
The Anti-Defamation League attributed 25 homicides to right-wing
extremists in 2022, of which 21 were at the hands of white supremacists like
Payton Gendron, the 18-year-old gunman who walked
into a Buffalo grocery store and opened fire, killing 10 and injuring three,
all African Americans. Similarly, on duty law enforcement officers killed at
least 1,096 people in 2022–more than 3 people per day on average–representing
the deadliest year on record for police violence since The Washington Post began tracking the slayings nationwide in
2015.The Post database
also found that while nearly half of all of those slain by police were white,
African Americans are 2.5 times more likely to be killed by on-duty police than
are whites.
And the Gun Violence Archive identified 647 mass shootings in 2022 and
690 in 2021. Both figures are more than double the number of mass shootings,
282, in 2014 when the Archive first began tracking such assaults, and are
commensurate with an FBI analysis of 2019 data that found that the number of
hate crimes had increased by 42 percent over a five-year-span.
That figure represents the highest nationwide total since the onset of
the Great Recession in 2008, and is predicated mostly on a spike in hate crimes
targeting African Americans. Analyzing data submitted by more than 15,000 state
and local law enforcement agencies, the FBI identified 7,759 hate crimes, 2,755
of which identified Black victims, or 40 percent more than the previous year.
Anti-Asian assaults increased by 70 percent over the same period, but the
aggregate numbers were relatively minuscule, from 158 to 274, while anti-white
violence rose by 16 percent to 773. (Attacks targeting Muslims and Jews fell by
42 and 30 percent respectively over the same span.)

How the
Black Misleadership Class Provides Cover to Cop City
https://www.blackagendareport.com/how-black-misleadership-class-provides-cover-cop-city
by Eva Dickerson
The Cop City project is just the latest iteration of Black
politicians covering up for the white power structure in Atlanta. The community
doesn't want Cop City, but so-called leadership don't
really work on their behalf.
I’ll never forget the day, during the spring of 2016, when I witnessed
Atlanta’s Black misleadership class firsthand.
Members of the Housing Justice League, a resident-led organization borne of the
Occupy movement, delivered public comment on the proposed development of an
area surrounding a football stadium to the Atlanta City Council. City Hall was
packed with students, elders, and families, many of whom had resisted the
city’s callous destruction of their neighborhoods for years. I watched my
mentors Sherise Brown, Alison Johnson, and other
elders speak with passion about their love for their community and the history
of extractive so-called development that they endured. When Bertha Darden, who
was in danger of losing her home to eminent domain, came to the mic and choked up with tears, the majority-Black City
Council looked back at us with careless expressions of boredom. (Mrs. Darden
recently passed away; of the many brilliant activists I’ve known, she stood
apart for her commitment to getting this city to do right by the people.)
Keisha Lance Bottoms, who would become mayor in 2018, was on her phone when it
was my turn to speak.
Far from being a glib insult, the phrase “Black misleadership
class,” popularized
by the journalist Glen Ford, is essential to
understanding the dynamics playing out in Atlanta today. “Cop City” is the
derisive name local activists have given the $90 million (that we know of so
far), 85-acre urban warfare practice facility schemed
up via a collaboration between the Atlanta Police Foundation and the city’s
business class in the wake of the 2020 uprisings. And who would sell Cop City
to the people? First Bottoms and then her successor, Mayor Andre Dickens, and
other Black Democratic officials who have aligned with corporate interests and
Republicans — Brian Kemp, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Mary Norwood — to wage
war against the multiracial, intergenerational, grassroots struggle to abolish
Cop City. Cop City would not exist without the lie that the Black people who
“run” this city are a part of my community.
But the movement challenges the Black misleadership
class and the way it provides cover to Cop City. The protest technologies we
built, borrowed, and shared among our comrades across the country and around
the world in 2020 primed our imaginations for the strategizing required to
destroy Cop City and transform Atlanta.
Atlanta’s Black Democratic elites, committed to the so-called Atlanta
Way, have proved to be an antagonistic, extractive force time and time again,
from the local government’s continued lies about the scope and cost of the
facility to its bad faith “public
engagement .” The
Atlanta Way describes the destructive
collaboration between Black political elites and white economic elites in
service of racial capitalism. In exchange for their pacification of radical
potential from the Black underclass and for championing projects and policies
that harm ordinary Black people, Black political elites are rewarded with
legacy political positions, backroom deals, and lucrative career advances. This
collaboration lends respectability to racial inequality because Black political
leaders are the face of it, helping endear Atlantans
to a political ecosystem they would otherwise reject. In Atlanta, the phrase
“Black faces in high places” takes on a new meaning.
Every Black politician in Atlanta is implicated by the Atlanta Way,
because it is the only path to political success. Former mayor Kasim Reed — whose tenure was marred by corruption scandals
— tweeted , “The Atlanta Way is alive and well,” after the victory of his
successor, Keisha Lance Bottoms, under whom the plans for Cop City would be
announced. As part of this collaboration, the Black misleadership
class directs our anger back into “suitable” (read: ineffective) channels for
“expression” — the voting booth, the entertainment industry, respectable public
forums — in exchange for political and financial success.
After voting in favor of Cop City and against the hundreds of Atlantans who came to City Hall in June 2023 to oppose the
complex, City Council member Michael Julian Bond (son of civil rights legend
Julian Bond) told The
Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the ensuing protest ran
“afoul of ‘the Atlanta way’ that people are used to for protesting.” Whether
it’s Andrew Young calling us “unlovable little brats” in 2016 because we took to the streets
to respond to police violence or John Lewis’s “good trouble” identifying
acceptable types of “protest,” the Atlanta Way and the Black misleadership class’s role in it prop up a city where the
working class is under constant threat of police terror while corporations and
upper-middle-class white communities enjoy the capital and social benefits of “the
city too busy to hate” (a phrase coined in 1955 by Mayor William Hartsfield, an
early proponent of the Atlanta Way).
The Atlanta Way isn’t limited to local politicians; it extends to anyone
who benefits from the power of such a large Black voting bloc. Raphael
Warnock’s 2020 Senate campaign was framed as a monumental opportunity for
Georgia residents to change the trajectory of our country. Warnock called
Atlanta “the city too busy to hate” during his eulogy at the June 2020 funeral for Rayshard
Brooks, who was killed by the police officer Garrett Rolfe. Warnock suggested
that “rather than trying to destroy one another, maybe God wants us to use Rayshard’s tragic story and this dark chapter to move us
toward turning the page.” Although Atlanta is no stranger to protest, the
uprisings after Brooks’s killing, including the
burning and occupation of a Wendy’s, expressed decades of compounding hurt.

I crashed an anti-Syria lobby
meeting where they pushed for a new Caliphate and more starvation sanctions
https://thegrayzone.com/2023/08/21/anti-syria-lobby-caliphate-starvation-sanctions/
by Hekmat Aboukhater
I crashed the meeting of a lobbying
front that ended the life-saving General License 2023 on Syria, and is now
pushing to extend Washington’s economic war for another 8 years.
Behind closed doors, the former
State Department official leading the workshop revealed the group’s ultimate
goal: partitioning Syria and creating a de facto Caliphate for a rebranded Al
Qaeda offshoot.
This July
30, I registered under an alias to join a workshop organized by the Syrian
American Council (SAC), the leading voice of the lobby that aims to starve and
destabilize Syria into submission to the West’s demands. The workshop
instructed SAC members to advocate for the most recent Syria regime change
bill, H.R. 3202, during those visits.
During the
seminar, I was able to witness firsthand the impact of the anti-Syria lobby and
understand the cynical tactics it employs to condemn the population of Syria to
poverty and famine.
Most
recently, the lobby successfully ended the life-saving sanctions exemption
known as General License 23 (GL 23), which allowed humanitarian aid into Syria
following the catastrophic earthquake that struck the country this February.
The lobby succeeded in ending GL 23 by pushing a lie that workshop leaders
repeated without end: “the sanctions only affect the Syrian government and not
the people.”
In truth,
the sanctions have done incalculable damage to the Syrian people, as the UN’s
Special Rapporteur on sanctions, Alena
Douhan, noted in an interview with The Grayzone in 2021. Relaying the words of a civilian she’d
spoken with earlier that day, Douhan explained that
“the impact of unilateral sanctions on the Syrian population can be pretty
equivalent to those of the conflict itself.”
But for
some, it’s still not enough. Chief among them was the man leading the workshop,
Wa’el Alzayat, a Syrian
American veteran of the State Department who recently authored an op-ed
entitled, “Don’t lift sanctions on Syria to help earthquake
victims.”

This incisive article by Pierre-Henri Bunel,
a former member of France’s Military Intelligence, initially published by
Global Research in 2005, sheds light on the nature of Al Qaeda, an intelligence
construct used by Washington to destabilize and destroy sovereign countries,
while sustaining the illusion of an outside enemy, which threatens the
security of America and the Western World.
The state sponsor of Al Qaeda goes after Al Qaeda?
What is the meaning in Arabic of Al Qaeda??? That is
the Question which is raised by Maj. Pierre-Henri Bunel
It’s “The Base”, namely the
Database of the Islamic Mujahideen ( Reagan’s
“Freedom Fighters”) recruited by the CIA.
The article below describes the origins of Al Qaeda.
Maj. Pierre-Henri Bunel knew the truth about “Al

“I Watched a Democracy Die. I
Don’t Want to Do It Again”
https://www.counterpunch.org/2023/09/13/i-watched-a-democracy-die-i-dont-want-to-do-it-again/
by Ariel Dorfman
For 50 years, I have been mourning
the death of President Salvador Allende of Chile, who
was overthrown
in a coup the morning of Sept. 11, 1973. For 50 years, I have
mourned his death and the many deaths that followed: the execution and
disappearance of my friends and so many more unknown women and men whom I
marched with through the streets of Santiago in defense of Mr. Allende and his unprecedented attempt to build a socialist
society without bloodshed.
I can
pinpoint the moment I realized that our peaceful revolution had failed. It was
early on the morning of the coup in the nation’s capital, when I heard the
announcement that a junta led by Gen. Augusto Pinochet was now in control of
Chile. Later that night, huddling in a safe house, already being hunted by
Chile’s new rulers, I listened to a radio broadcast that Mr. Allende had been found dead at La Moneda,
the presidential palace and seat of government, after the armed forces bombed it and assaulted it with tanks and troops.
My first
reaction was dread. Dread of what could happen to me, to my family and friends,
dread at what was about to happen to my country. And then I was overcome by a
sorrow that has never quite lifted from my heart. We had been given a unique,
luminous chance to change history — a left-wing, democratically elected
government in Latin America that was set to be an inspiration to the world. And
then we had blown it.
Not only
did General Pinochet end our dreams; he ushered in an era of brutal human
rights violations. During his military rule, from 1973 to 1990, more than 40,000 people were subjected to physical and psychological torture. Hundreds of
thousands of Chileans — political opponents, independent critics or innocent
civilians suspected of having links to them — were jailed, murdered, persecuted
or exiled. More than a thousand men and women are still among the desaparecidos,
the disappeared, with no funerals and no graves.
How our
nation remembers, 50 years later, the historical trauma of our common past
could not be more important than it is now, when the temptation of
authoritarian rule is once again on the rise among Chileans, as it is, of course, across the world. Many conservatives in Chile
today argue that the 1973 coup was a necessary correction. Behind their
justification lurks a dangerous nostalgia for a strongman who supposedly will
deal with the problems of our time by imposing order, crushing dissent and
restoring some sort of mythical national identity.

“The Pedagogy of Power”
https://www.mintpressnews.com/chris-hedges-pedagogy-power-political-philosophy/285676/
by Chris Hedges
I am
standing in a classroom in a maximum security prison. It is the first class of
the semester. I am facing 20 students. They have spent years, sometimes
decades, incarcerated. They come from some of the poorest cities and
communities in the country. Most of them are people of color.
During the next four months, they will study political philosophers such as Plato, Aristotle, Thomas Hobbes, Niccolò Machiavelli
, Friedrich Nietzsche, Karl Marx and John Locke, those often dismissed as anachronistic by the cultural left.It is not
that the criticisms leveled against these philosophers are incorrect. They were
blinded by their prejudices, as we are blinded by our prejudices. They had a
habit of elevating their own cultures above others. They often defended
patriarchy, could be racist and, in the case of Plato and Aristotle, endorsed a
slave society.
What can
these philosophers say to the issues we face — global corporate domination, the
climate crisis, nuclear war and a digital universe where information, often
manipulated and sometimes false, travels around the globe instantly? Are
these thinkers antiquated relics? No one in medical
school is reading 19th-century medical texts. Psychoanalysis has moved beyond
Sigmund Freud. Physicists have advanced from Isaac Newton’s law of motion to
general relativity and quantum mechanics. Economists are no longer rooted
in John
Stuart Mill.
But the
study of political philosophy, as well as ethics, is different. Not for the
answers but for the questions. The questions have not changed since Plato wrote
“The Republic.” What is
justice? Do all societies inevitably decay? Are we the authors of our lives? Or
is our fate determined by forces beyond our control, a series of fortuitous or
unfortunate accidents? How should power be distributed? Is the good statesman,
as Plato argued, a philosopher king — a thinly disguised version of Plato — who
puts truth and learning above greed and lust and who understands reality? Or,
as Aristotle believed, is the good statesman skilled in the exercise of power
and endowed with thoughtful deliberation? What qualities are needed to wield
power? Machiavelli says these include immorality, deception and violence.
Hobbes writes that in war, violence and fraud become virtues. What forces can
be organized to pit the power of the demos, the populace, against the rulers to ensure justice? What
are our roles and duties as citizens? How should we educate the young? When is
it permissible to break the law? How is tyranny prevented or overthrown? Can
human nature, as the Jacobins and communists believed, be transformed? How do
we protect our dignity and freedom? What is friendship? What constitutes
virtue? What is evil? What is love? How do we define a good life? Is there a
God? If God does not exist, should we abide by a moral code?
These questions thunder down through the ages, asked during different times and under different circumstances. The most radical contemporary philosophers, including Frantz Fanon, author of The Wretched of the Earth, built their edifices on the foundations of the political philosophers that came before them. In Fanon’s case, it was Friedrich Hegel. As Vladimir Lenin correctly said of Marx, most of his ideas could be traced to previous philosophers. Paulo Freire, the author of “Pedagogy of the Oppressed,” studied philosophy. Hannah Arendt, who wrote“The Origins of Totalitarianism
,” was steeped in the ancient Greeks and Augustine.“It is
indeed difficult and even misleading to talk about politics and its innermost
principles without drawing to some extent upon the experiences of Greek and
Roman antiquity, and this for no other reason than that men have never, either
before or after, thought so highly of political activity and bestowed so much
dignity upon its realm,” Arendt writes in “Between
Past and Future.”
Cornel West, one of our most important contemporary moral philosophers, who once admonished me for not having read the German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer, is as conversant on Søren
Kierkegaard, whom he taught at Harvard, and Immanuel Kant as he is on W.E.B. DuBois, Fanon, Malcolm X and bell hooks.============

“The Struggle For
Democracy”
https://reportfromplanetearth.substack.com/p/the-struggle-for-democracy
by David Marks
Divisive Politics Engenders Disaster
Whether we
are weary of divisive politics or enthusiastically participate in elections,
those who seek and attain power ultimately affect our lives.
The battle
for the U.S. presidency has lost all traces of sanity and democracy. The
extreme opinions regarding which potential leader supports freedom and justice
— and who is a charlatan or criminal — reflect the schizophrenic polarization
of the country.
This
crisis in choosing leadership is no accident. The unscrupulous, disruptive
methods of attaining and maintaining high office reveal the continuing
degeneration of ethical standards, constitutional rights, and a willingness to
abuse the electoral process.
Political
strategies designed to skew perception and incite emotion, rather than display
the actual qualifications and predisposition of candidates, are a blight on the country. Most Americans are not fooled by
these charades, though consequently, confidence has been lost in U.S. institutions; particularly the presidency.
The
Democratic National Committee’s changing of rules including the date of the Iowa caucus and the New Hampshire primary are solely designed to rig voting and influence the image of President Biden.
This chicanery is matched by the Trump campaign’s attempt to dominate the Republican Party’s nomination apparatus.
The
deterioration and division caused by the two-party system are not hidden. The
United States is being torn apart by partisan agendas that have little to do
with the daily lives of its citizens.

“Make America Gold Again”
by Celia Farber
Round Two, About Trow,
And Thin Air, and The Lorax
In the
mornings, I get “downloads,” (but I need a non-computer word for that, if
anybody has ideas.)
I’m
getting a few letters, and they have touched me deeply, asking WHY I took down The George Trow essay I posted yesterday. These letters helped me see that it was resonating with people more than I
thought, so today, I’ll put it back, right after this. [I just did, and it’s
linked above. Can be accessed via main site, not email.]
I took it
down because I had the sense some readers were feeling bludgeoned and exhausted
by it, and maybe also felt it was dark. It is “dark.” But only transiently.
What
follows is this morning’s download. Thank you for your forbearance.
What is Darkness and What Is Light?
If I could
talk to George I would tell him that he, maybe foremost among American writers
addressing America, (idk,) described the American Erlkönig and that by
describing it, he brought light, by
way of cataloging darkness. (Erlkönig=supernatural
entity that press on innocence.) (Also known as The Devil.)
Describing
a thing very accurately is one of the best things you can do. Like Linnaeus.
I
understand Trow was probably secular (not sure) and I
understand he did not know how not to perish, but he’s my imaginary brother
now. And I see him as light, in the category of clarifier. (My
favorite people.) And also, that text is genuinely, you could say,
“depressing.” But I think if something is accurate and true it’s not merely
depressing.
His rebuke
of the American De-Contexualized Matrix brings a kind
of light— his horror and despair too. False positivism can be darker than
despair. But he was surrounded by people (is my sense) who only cared that he
lunched with Diana Vreeland, wanted the superficial side of him, the gay
sparkler. He deserted all his friends in the end, and fled to Italy, after he
got out of a psychiatric hospital they had sent him to—no doubt out of pure
necessity, and probably love. Also no doubt he was not helped at all. Probably almost killed. And no mystery why
he immediately ex-patriated to Italy. He
himself could not achieve real intimacy, and he abandoned 100% of his friends,
which hurt them deeply. He just stopped talking to everybody. This happens when
a person is battling what is superficially labeled schizophrenia. It means a
person loses the thick skin and becomes a translucent vessel of all
frequencies. Soon almost everything sounds faintly false and faintly
threatening to this person. But they may be the generator of it. It’s a loop. I
also think they did understand
who he was and what he had produced. (In New York City!) But probably he was
tortured by people advising him to take
things less seriously. How could he, once he had seen it?
(Looks
like my George Trow obsession is still going on.)
I woke up
with his word: “Scale” on my mind.

Friday Funnies: “Wrong is Wrong.”
https://rwmalonemd.substack.com/p/friday-funnies-wrong-is-wrong
by Robert W Malone MD, MS
Misdeeds should have consequences.
Living in
the state of Virginia, I have witnessed first-hand this week how most of the
main stream media has worked to normalize
that a political candidate could run for the Virginia State Congress, all the
while streaming herself and her husband in porn videos as recently as this
year. These porn videos include this candidate soliciting “tips” for “sex acts”
- requested by her audience. Ergo, she was getting paid to perform sex for
money… to pay for her costs to get elected… Yes, this is seriously happening
and yes, journalists are defending this. Many big name journalists and
newspapers are suggesting Virginians should accept such a candidate without
reservations. In fact, some went as far to say it is “misogyny” (this is, is
hatred of, aversion to, or prejudice against women) to “malign” such a
candidate.
Common
decency is something we should strive for in our society and elected officials.
Anyone who streams sex videos purposefully on-line, who
solicits money for sex on-line or off-line, doesn’t not represent decency.
End of story.
Defending
the indefensible for the sake of winning an election is disgusting.
But just
look at these headlines:
