Bulletin #21

5 May 2002
Grenoble, France

Dear Colleagues:

For the past several weeks, the Grenoble research center, Center for the
Advanced Study of American Institutions and Social Movements, has been
forwarding items of information sent to us by members of our Research
Center and other interested colleagues. These messages do not always
reflect our points of view. However, they do represent important heuristic
investigations, that might stimulate further meaningful research, which is
the purpose of our Research Center in Grenoble.

The information that we forward is intended to stimulate academic debates
among students, scholars, and other concerened citizens who attended our
January Conference in Grenoble on The Impact of American Mulitnational
Corporations. If for some reason your name is on our list and you do NOT
wish to receive further information from us on American institutions and
social movements, please send me, by reply mail, a message asking me to
remove your name from our mailing list, and it shall be done immediately.

Thus far, we have received dozens of messages of appreciation primarily
from teachers in the United States, in the Former Soviet Union (where I was
recently invited as the keynote speaker at a week-long conference on
American Studies), and in Western Europe. We have received many challenging
debates, some of which we have published, and also one or two complaints
about the contents of the controversial materials which our research center
has forwarded.

Again, if for any reason you wish your name to be removed from our mailing
list, we invite you to contact us immediately, and you shall receive no
more of the materials which we will continue to forward, from time to time.

Sincerely,

Francis McCollum Feeley
